Dear Friend,
My name is Andrew Waters and I write this to you with a hope of making a difference in this, our world.
We as living beings must face the truth, that the whole world and everything in it is an endless mystery and that as living beings it is our duty to solve as much of this mystery as we can during the span of our lifetime. Furthermore we must acknowledge that we, as living beings, are part of this mystery and therefore we must embrace it and be at one with it. We must come to understand that the crux of this mystery is the infinite mystery of beingness.
Our very existence is all the proof we will ever need.
The only real knowledge is to experience Self. This simple truth is all we have to measure the purpose of our lives.
Within the mystery of beingness all are equal and as such each of us must take responsibility for our lives.
Now... perhaps you have silently noticed that our world is in a precarious position these days. You strive to make your little slice of this world secure and safe but the momentum of the bigger world out there is increasingly undermining your efforts.
Yes, you are unhappy with the way things are going. Yes, you find it difficult to subscribe to the nonsense you have been taught your entire life. After all look where it got us. Something is wrong but you can't put your finger on it.
My friend, the honest truth is that you have willfully traded your freedom for a pack of lies and thus you feel powerless.
Isn't it strange that no matter who you vote for, nothing seems to change? Is it right that a mere handful have all the power... Is that working for you? Do you believe that our one and only world should be polluted and disrespected for the benefit of a few... at the expense of all of life present and future?
The churches don't seem to get it. Our elected officials don't seem to respond. Our economics are rigged from the top down. Education is a farce as is the for-profit health care system, mass media, and military industrial complex.
I say again, Our very existence is all the proof we will ever need.
Listen friend... The world is not what it seems and we all have the power to change it.
We all have some power, maybe not much power but at least a little. We all have the power to think and feel and to believe as we see fit. Now if I alone believe we need to make a course adjustment to get to a place where we all can live a prosperous and peaceful life... well... not much is going to change! BUT if there were 10 others, or 100, or a whole city, or state, or country or continent... that is the power of belief.
I will do my part. Will you?
If any of this rings true with you then we have a place to start. Mankind's heritage belongs to us all. It is our birthright. And what is our heritage? It is that we are magical beings with unlimited potential to learn what life really is and to discover who we really are. Deep down inside we all know why we are here and what we should be doing. Ignorance is never an excuse. The choice is ours.
Choose wisely my friend. Then join me in pushing the boundries of knowledge.

What is the Toltec Center?
For now at least it is an idea... a dream. The word Toltec is older than time. It literally means a man or woman of knowledge. True knowledge is to experience the Self. The Self exists beyond all forms... body, thoughts, and emotions. The Self cannot be defined with words. All things that can be described with words are forms. The Self is thus no thing.
The Toltec Center is a place, and a way of life, for people to learn about Self.
Generally speaking, individuals and humanity at large, have put little emphasis on true knowledge. They live their lives in what Toltecs call a dream. The core of the illusion is identifying with the form side of life.
For those of you who are interested in learning more about the Toltec teachings please read the Toltec Teachings by the nagal Théun Mares. Théun created a website dedicated to bringing the Toltec teachings to humanity. The Toltec Legacy.
Andrew Waters, one of Théun's students, is the current moderator of Toltec Legacy. Furthermore Andrew was tasked by Théun to establish a North American Toltec Center (NATC). It is to this end that this web site was created.
Since the NATC's purpose is to assist humanities quest for knowledge, it is humanity itself which must materialise it! Therefore if you feel an inner need to contribute then now is the time to step forward.
We need some land... or a building, or property to get us started.

The real problem we are facing in the world today is resistance to change.
Let us be honest... We all would love to see cleaner air, economic prosperity, honor and honestly in politics and people caring about each other. In short a better world and richer, meaningful lives.
The ONLY thing stopping this from materialising is our unwillingness to change. We all are letting our fear and laziness control our lives. How can we say we want a better world but not be willing to adjust our lifestyles to make it happen?
One contributing factor in our current situation is that we have no sense of community. We each live on our own little island and our interaction with others is generally along the lines of using others for our own single minded benefit.
The reasons for this are many and would take a systematic dissection of current beliefs, education, economics, religion and science. Undoubtedly we must take the time to do this but for now let us consider what a truly life supportive community would look like.
As an example let us look at the role fossil fuels play in our lives today. It would be hard to argue that cars and electricity in our homes is a bad thing. But to be honest, how often do we weigh the cost of these commonplace necessities? First we must admit to ourselves that fossil fuels are a finite resource. They will eventually run out and though we don't like to admit it, it will happen relatively soon.
Secondly the use of fossil fuel has a price that reachs far beyond our monthly bills. Pollution and poisoning of our planet, poor health on a global scale, economic inequity that effects every country and village on earth and perhaps most costly is the fact that each of us secretly realises that we are passing on this legacy to our children.
Are we just going to pass the buck? Are we going to bury our head in the sand, all because we fear changing the way things are done?
I am not going to fluff things up, NO... most of you will find the required action to fix these problems very difficult. Some of you will never admit that being alive comes with responsibilities. That every choice you make has consequences. To those of you who are so ignorant and lost that you no longer can feel empathy, I say the world would be better off without you. Does the farmer not prune away the parts of the fruit tree that are diseased? In order to materialise a better world we are going to have to be ruthless!
We all are here in this world for but a short time. Every living being has a responsibility to themselves and to all of life to uplift their awareness. Making the world a better place is the only way of honoring our gift of life.
So take the time to look at YOUR life. Are you part of the problem or the solution? Be ruthless with yourself and do whatever pruning is necessary in order for you to claim your honor. When you die, this is how you will judge yourself.
The Toltec Center is here to facilitate this change.
